Major gifts make major differences. Below is a partial list of major giving opportunities to consider. In general, gifts are payable at once or over a multi-year period. Please contact the Pasteur Foundation to discuss these and other possibilities.
Unrestricted bequests provide a vital, flexible way to support our work. Bequests may also be designated, for example, to our fellowship program for young U.S. scientists or to a specific research area. For more information, please contact us here.
The creation of each three-year fellowship requires $225,000. By furthering this program, our donors aid a cause benefiting the health of individuals throughout the world while creating research opportunities for American scientists. Membership levels start at $50,000. For more information, please contact us here.
Areas might include infectious diseases, emerging diseases, neglected diseases, malaria, tuberculosis, multi-resistant diseases, HIV/AIDS, cancer, deafness and autism, among others.
Help us build and equip a major new complex, the Institut Pasteur Center of Integrative Biology, for the study of emerging diseases. A multidisciplinary approach to emerging and reemerging diseases (influenza, tuberculosis, Dengue fever, Ebola, antibiotic resistance etc.) is essential to understanding treatment and combating outbreaks. This center will house teams of researchers who are tackling the study of these illnesses from a variety of biological perspectives. Designating support to assist in equipping this building will aid the Institut Pasteur to acquire high-performance technologies that are crucial both to the study of these new diseases and to the rapid response necessary in the face of an outbreak.
Directing giving toward the endowment of faculty chairs is an excellent way to invest in our people and their ideas. Three examples follow:
- A $1.5 million gift permits the Institut Pasteur to finance the work of a new group.
- With an endowment of $3 million, we are able to create a faculty chair for a young researcher and to finance his or her team.
- An endowment of $6.5 million permits the creation of a senior faculty chair and the accompanying laboratory.
