Mission

A nonprofit organization, the Pasteur Foundation works to support the world-recognized Institut Pasteur in its pursuit of excellence in the domain of biological research, primarily on infectious diseases, but extending to certain types of cancer, genetic and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as to allergies. As its U.S. nonprofit affiliate, the Pasteur Foundation seeks to strengthen charitable and scientific ties between the Institut Pasteur and the United States.

The foundation carries out its mission to help the Institut Pasteur by funding specific projects, promoting scientific exchanges with American researchers and by raising funds for the advancement of science. The foundation runs several formal visiting-scientist programs.

The Pasteur Foundation relies on public support and, primarily, on charitable giving. Given its 501(c)(3) organization status, gifts to the Pasteur Foundation are fully tax-deductible.
