Stained-Glass Window at the Heinz Memorial Chapel Depicting Louis Pasteur as the Defender of Truth

Charles J. Connick's Stained Glass Window in the Heinz Memorial Chapel

A versatile artist, who was perhaps best known for his stained glass work, Charles J. Connick created a glorious window for the Heinz Memorial Chapel at the University of Pittsburgh. Intended as a celebration of human achievement, the chapel depicts Pasteur in two places: in a tympanum carving as Jesus’s spiritual progeny in healing and as the central figure in the “Truth” window.
