Biography: Marie-Hélène Marchand

Marie-Hélène Marchand is a founding corporate board member of the Pasteur Foundation. From 1983 to 2000, she served as Secretary General of the Institut Pasteur, and from 2004 until present as Honorary Secretary General. In recent years, she helped to establish the Canadian Foundation Louis Pasteur, the Friends of the Institut Pasteur Hong-Kong Limited, and the Association Pasteur-Japan.

Ms. Marchand served as an aide to the President of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and to the French Minister of Research, following which she was in charge of scientific international cooperation with industrialized countries at the French Ministry of Research.

She holds a Master’s degree from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Paris).

She has numerous charitable activities and devotes herself, in particular, to the Vielles Maisons Françaises and the Collège des Bernardins.

Ms. Marchand is a Chevalier in the French Legion of Honor and an Officier in the French National Order of Merit.
